This exchange directly supported Mr Everson Ndlovu’s ACEWATER III PhD research on an early warning framework for Deka River Basin communities in Hwange District, Zimbabwe. The visit enabled intensive supervision meetings with the co supervisor, targeted HCD mentoring, and joint analysis of data for his second article, “The Role of Mining Activities in Exacerbating Water Insecurity and Climate Vulnerabilities in the Deka River Basin.” It also allowed Everson specialized literature, methods support, and seminars in climate risk, water security, and mining-impacted catchments, which are less available at his home institution. The stay was essential to strengthen the scientific quality, methodological rigour, and policy relevance of his outputs and to embed his work within regional research networks in line with the ACEWATER III mobility and capacity development objectives. Everson has had the opportunity to meet with colleagues of ACEWATER III coordinating team.
