Short course training at 2iE, Burkina Faso: Strengthening WASH resilience of displaced people and communities in transboundary basins, 9-11 June 2025

This training module aimed to enhance the capacity of stakeholders to address Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) challenges faced by displaced populations and host communities in transboundary basins. The objectives were to: 1.) Develop understanding of transboundary WASH challenges 2.) Enhance knowledge on best practices and innovations in WASH 3.) Strengthen capacity for WASH governance and coordination and 4.) Promote inclusivity and community engagement approach.

As part of the ACEWATER III project, the 2iE Institute organized a training session from June 9 – 11, 2025, on “Management of Transboundary Water Resources in a Context of Climate Change.”

This training session brought together 18 participants from water agencies, NGOs, institutional structures, research institutions, and authorities responsible for water resource management in Burkina Faso. It was distinguished by its strong female representation, highlighting the growing commitment of women in this strategic area.
Combining theoretical presentations, practical exercises, group work, and interactive plenary sessions, the training session was highly appreciated by the participants for its quality and richness.
