ACEWATER III

The ACEWATER project, funded by the European Commission, will implement five main activities between 2024 and 2028.


I. Research for Science, Technology and Innovation for improved Transboundary Water Resources Management and Decision-Making.

II. Human Capacity Development and to undertake at least 40 short courses and reach over 1200 participants

III. Short-term-mobility opportunities between partners and to create opportunities for 79 staff and 120 emerging scholars to undertake short-term research- and skills exchanges between member institutions of the AUDA-NEPAD Water CoEs.

IV. Performance Monitoring, Evaluation (M&E) and Joint Learning to further translate into real-life impact

V. Communication and engagement with Policy stakeholders and to provide 152 opportunities for staff and 48 opportunities for post-graduate students to attend regional conferences, and attend Continental Policy engagement and forums to engage with policy-makers and stakeholders.

The project will be implemented through Stellenbosch University along with 20 partner institutions in the AUDA-NEPAD Networks of Water Centres of Excellence and through the EU Delegation South Africa. Thank you for the guidance and support from the African Ministers’ Council on Water (AMCOW), the Regional Economic Communities (RECs), SADC Secretariat, ECOWAS Commission, EAC, CEEAC ECCAS, the European Commission Joint Research Centre and many, many stakeholders.
