Nigeria: Zamfara to Construct Three Earth Dams

Gusau — The Zamfara State government has awarded contract for the construction of three earth dams at the cost of N86m to boost irrigation farming in the state.

The dams which are Sakida in Maradun Local Government, Faru in Zurmi Local Government and Kwatarkwashi in Bungudu Local Government, when completed are expected to boost irrigation farming and provide good pastures for Fulani herdsmen.

The state’s Commissioner for Animals and Livestock, Alhaji Ibrahim Arzika, said the Sakida Dam has been completed at the cost of N45m.
