We are making our Science-Diplomacy/Internationalisation contributions at the African Ministers’ Council on Water (AMCOW) Southern Africa sub-regional consultations taking place in Livingstone, Zambia. Also as an Implementing Partner of SADC Secretariat Water, we are privileged to participate at these fora.
Stellenbosch University host the Secretariat of the AUDA-NEPAD Networks of Water Centres of Excellence Southern African Network of Water Centres of Excellence (SANWATCE), a network of 12 Universities and Research institutions in the Region. We also collaborate with 20 other institutions across the African Continent to undertake Research and Capacity Development in the Water, Sanitation, Hygiene (WASH)/Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR – PERIPERI-U network) for Climate Change Resilience/Adaptation.
We shared with Senior Officials from the SADC Member States our plans to implement the ACEWATERIII project – a EURO 5mil project funded by the European Commission between 2024-2027 to undertake Research and Capacity Development activities for Transboundary Water Resource Management across the African Continent.
